Midland’s thriving economy, growing marketplace and population just north of 100,000 has drawn the attention of Atlanta’s HoneyBaked Ham Co. And Café, which is seeking a franchisee to open a store in Midland.
Jim Squire, Director of Franchise Development for the company, added that a franchisee would also have the opportunity to open in Odessa.
‘For 40-45 years, we built company-owned stores and came to Texas in the major metropolitan areas,’ said Squire. ‘A couple of years ago we decided to look at 22 smaller markets with good demographics that offered opportunities for franchisees.’ Midland, he said, popped up on that radar and is part of the company’s plan to expand from the current 379 stores in 37 states with an additional 100 stores across the nation.
