Benjamin I. Liuson, owner of the Pacific Insular Co. Inc., a wholesaler of generics medicine, had been taking it easy for the past 9 years after a triple heart bypass operation forced him to slow down.
His 3 daughters, who now run the 50-year-old company he inherited from his adoptive parents, bring home his paperworks in the evening and bring these back to the office in the morning. He goes to the office once a week ‘just to make sure people still remember me - as they may not allow me in.’
This has been his routine for the past 8 years, spending 4-hour lunches with friends, walking for half an hour daily and enjoying his easy life.
But these days, a new venture is preoccupying Liuson’s time. And his life is slowly becoming hectic again.
He says an ad in the Inquirer changed his life. It was an ad of Francorp, an international franchising consultancy firm, that called on businesses, which have had profitable operations for 3 years and wanted to do good for others, to attend a seminar on franchising. Read full article.
