Retailers Keen For New Franchise Rules

The Small Retailers Association says business franchises are failing in South Australia because owners are not being given accurate information.

Association director John Brownsea has put his concerns to a committee of State Parliament which is considering new franchise rules.

Mr Brownsea says better information should be given to potential franchisees so they can accurately assess contract requirements.

“Quite often in contracts [that] is not clearly outlined,” he said.
