Arby’s Franchisee Switches To Solar Power

The Winning Team, a North Carolina-based Arby’s franchisee, will switch its 33 restaurants from conventional natural-gas hot water heaters to solar-powered ones. Thanks to Appalachian Energy’s model, the switch will require no upfront capital cost.

A total of 132 solar panels will produce hot water for the restaurants, even on cloudy days, according to a news release. Appalachian Energy’s engineers monitor the system online from their North Carolina headquarters.
