Restaurant Brands is still confident it can halt falling sales at its Pizza Hut chain despite those outlets having just recorded their biggest quarterly drop in same-store sales for a year.
In the third quarter, which ended December 3, Restaurant Brands had total group sales of $69.1 million, the company said yesterday.
This was a 1.9 per cent rise on the same figures a year ago, helped by another strong performance from KFC.
However, the Pizza Hut stores, now reduced to 98 from 105 a year ago, have continued to struggle with a highly competitive market. Pizza Hut sales fell 13.4 per cent to $15.9 million.
On a samestore basis, Pizza Hut’s sales were 8.8 per cent lower.
