Fast-food chain Burger King Corp. said Thursday it agreed to let a franchisee group open Burger King restaurants in Colombia.
The group, Kinco SA, will open restaurants in the cities of Medellin and Cali beginning in the first half of 2008.
In a statement, Burger King Corp. President of Latin America, Armando Jacomino, said Colombia is a key market for growth in Latin America.
Burger King operates 903 restaurants in 26 countries in Latin America and expects to reach 1,000 restaurants in fiscal 2008.
