Franchising is one of the tools by which an enterprise can have access to technology, become competitive and go global. It enables a local enterprise to become part of a global supply chain, according to the speeches delivered at a 2-day seminar organized by Lahore Chamber of Commerce (LCCI) in collaboration with World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) on Tuesday.
The different sessions of the seminar were addressed by Provincial Housing and Urban Development Minister Mian Shafqat Ali, LCCI President Shahid Hassan Sheikh, Senior Vice President Yaqoob Tahir Izhar, SMEDA CEO Shahid Rashid, Guriqbal Singh Jaiya, Director, SME Division WIPO, Geneva, Pravin Anand and Tan Tee Jim.
Provincial Housing and Urban Development Minister Mian Shafqat Ali, who was chief guest of the seminar, said over the last 2 decades, franchising has become the fastest growing way of doing business in every country of the world as the risk factor of proven business is lesser than starting a new business totally.
