Serial Bandit Targets Subway

This man is hungry for cash and he may work for the food chain he’s stealing it from. A Springfield Lakes Subway restaurant has been named as one of the franchises hit in what police say may be an insider crime spree targeting the fast-food chain.

11 franchises from Springfield, Logan and the Gold Coast have been robbed between October 16 and December 25. In each case, the thief entered the building through the roof and found the restaurant’s safe. In some cases he has broken into the safe in the building; in others he has removed the safe through the roof.

The Springfield Lakes store was hit on November 18, when the intruder stole the safe. Fiona Maloney is the franchisee of Subway stores at Yamanto, Ipswich and Riverlink and says she wants the thief caught.
