The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) is seriously eyeing the foreign market. By next fiscal, Supplyco hopes to open supermarkets in West Asia on franchisee basis.
It has now sought expressions of interest from people and firms with at least 5 years’ business experience in the Gulf region. The Supplyco plans to form an overseas division to take care of its emerging interests in the foreign market.
Tie-ups with other government agencies such as Milma, Vegetable and Fruit Promotion Council Kerala (VFPCK), Coir Board, Kudumbasree and the Meat Products of India (MPI) are also planned to explore markets abroad.
