Franchising Concepts, led by chief executive Mike Lassiter, has invested 42 percent ownership with the founders of Justix, a fast-casual franchise specializing in freshly grilled items served on wooden skewers.

The Justix concept was founded by John and Cindy Lupi, co-owners and operators of full-service high-end restaurants and resorts in Georgia.

At Justix, guests can pick three of the same stix or mix and match their choice of meats, poultry, fish or tofu; they then can visit the self-service sauce bar with a dozen varieties of dipping sauces.

The founders and franchisors of Justix are focusing on a strategic growth plan that calls for 10 to 12 new franchises in 2008 in the Chicago, Houston, Dallas and Charlotte markets, as well as throughout California. Two locations are open: the flagship in Georgia and a franchise location in Georgetown, Ky.
