An individual claiming to be a New York Times advertising professional is alert.gifoffering a special feature supplement, ‘Franchise Hotlist for 2008,’ targeting franchise systems.

Although false, the feature claims ‘this supplement provides your company with a unique and cost effective opportunity to have a full-page ad in the supplement, as well as a mention of your company in the table of contents.’ Be alert to this or any unsolicited offer and always demand official verification.
