Successful franchisors talk about passion, partnerships and finding franchisees with the right attitude.
Inside Retailing:
Franchising has grown by 17% over the past 4 years, according to the Franchise Council of Australia, and is worth about $80 billion, making it the fastest-growing business sector in the country.
What are the things that make some franchises successful, while other fall by the wayside?
Pack & Send, a complete logistics provider, was one of three recent PricewaterhouseCoopers Excellence in Franchising Awards 2007 winners that Inside Retailing Magazine spoke with to discover the secrets of franchising success.
‘I think our key point of difference is that we have been able to successfully develop a culture in our organisation which we call ‘no limits’,’ says Pack & Send MD Michael Paul.
‘It is, essentially, that our people will go the extra mile all the time in providing a solution to their customers,’ says Paul. ‘What we’ve done is taken a logistics market but in a retail model, and the people in our stores just go the extra mile when it comes to customer service, and that culture has been developed over time and is something that has given our brand good brand integrity.’
