A Kuwaiti contractor on Tuesday reported boosting its stake in Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. to 13.8%, in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The investor, Mohamed Abdulmohsin Al Kharafi & Sons W.L.L., reported owning about 9.1 million shares, or a 13.8% stake based on 65.5 million shares outstanding.
In June, the shareholder reported owning 7.3 million shares, or an 11.3% stake in the Winston-Salem, N.C., company. Mohamed Abdulmohsin controls the Americana Group, Krispy Kreme’s franchisee in the Middle East.
