McDonald’s Holdings Co (Japan) said Thursday that its group net profit in 2007 grew five-fold from the previous year to 7,819 million yen thanks to the launch of the Mega Mac hamburger.
The profit surge was also thanks to an increase in the number of outlets operating around the clock.
The company’s group operating profit came to 16,733 million yen in 2007. Group sales rose 11.1% to 395,061 million yen. A review of the company’s procurement system helped to more than offset rises in materials prices.
Sales on a same-store basis increased 10.2% from the previous year, according to the company.
