ReferansÖmer Topbaş, the 23-year-old son of Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbaş, has made a good start in business life by establishing university canteens and boiled cups of corn, but his plans for the future have a global dimension and focus on the chocolate industry.

His first business venture was entering university canteens with his café, Pigastro, when he was just a senior student at college, and now Topbaş‘ new goal is to promote his concept of handmade chocolates throughout Europe with Paris as his ambitious first stop. Another one of his creative ideas was the boiled corn grain served in cups at stands in big shopping malls around Istanbul. The number of applicants to get a franchise of his brand ‘Corn in Cup’ has already surpassed 300. The recently popular ‘Corn in Cup’ delicacy has the reputation of a business created by sons of the Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) leading members. Read more.
