Starwood Hotels Eyes Asia Amid U.S. Gloom

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has aggressive expansion plans for Asia, with at least 30 hotels a year planned in China over the next 3 years.

The chain, which has 41 hotels in China, says its system revenue from Asia equals $2.6 billion, and the figure is expected to increase by up to 20% a year over the next five years, said the company’s Asia Pacific president, Miguel Ko.
