Wisconsin franchisees of the Quiznos Sub restaurant chain of Colorado have moved a lawsuit claiming that the company defrauded them to build its brand to Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
Wisconsin franchisees first filed a lawsuit Nov. 20, 2006, against Quiznos business entities in Denver - The Quiznos Franchise Co. LLC and Quiznos Franchising LLC - in U.S. District Court in Green Bay. A franchisee trade group called Toasted Subs Franchisee Association Inc. helped organize the case.
That lawsuit, however, was dismissed in November 2007 by Judge William Griesbach, who said the claims did not fall under the jurisdiction of federal law.
Griesbach said if Quiznos breached the terms of the franchise agreements, remedies would be covered by contract laws, not antitrust laws.
