After working for the past 5 years as an estimator for a company that supplies hospital furniture, Phil, 48, decided that it was time to become his own boss.

Ovenu’s environmentally-friendly service has attracted more than 100,000 customers across the UK and its franchise model has been replicated in Europe, Australia and the United States.

Phil plans to build up the business, initially working alone, with the aim of employing another member of staff in the future. The franchise covers South Sheffield and the surrounding areas.

Since 1994 Ovenu’s UK-wide network of more than 100 franchisees have cleaned more than one million ovens, microwaves, and barbeques.

Its valeting service involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered equipment, which uses non-caustic products to clean the oven parts. The whole process takes around 3 hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.

Phil said: ‘I wanted to develop my career further and also decided that I would like to start my own business. I had heard of the Ovenu franchise and knew they were proving to be hugely successful in the UK so decided that was the route I wanted to follow. Read more.
