Franchising in Yorkshire generated £1bn in turnover in 2007, according to new research.
The Natwest / British Franchise Association survey revealed that despite an uncertain economic backdrop, the growth of franchising continues to gain momentum, with the industry being worth a record £12.4bn.
The figure was a 15% increase on the previous year’s figure of £10.8bn.
The sector saw the number of franchise units reach 34,200 last year, which is the highest figure on record and was 8% up on the previous year.
