If you want to learn the ins and outs of franchising, there’s still time to sign up for this week’s Franchise Management Certificate Program at UTEP.
About 35 people have already registered, organizers say. The program is usually limited to about 40 participants, but organizers say they will accept anyone who registers by 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
The 2nd-day workshop, organized by the University of Texas at El Paso’s Franchise Center, will be Thursday through Saturday at the Union East Building.
The program is designed to give a ‘practical, pragmatic view’ of franchising and help prospective business owners decide whether franchising is right for them, said Frank Hoy, director of UTEP’s entrepreneurial centers.
‘We try to let them know what they can expect, how much work and money is involved, so they don’t have unrealistic expectations,’ Hoy said.
The program is designed to take a look at the pluses and minuses of the franchise industry, Franchise Center Executive Director Carolyn Gough said.
