For more than 20 years, Vin Penzo worked in the information technology field, documenting processes and detailing improvements for his employers. However, the dream of opening his own business was never far from his mind, and in March, Penzo opened the doors of his MaidPro housecleaning franchise in Melrose.
“I’ve always wanted the satisfaction of creating a service that’s highly valued by my clients,” he said. “I’ve always wanted to make key decisions on my own, and while working in IT was great, it was definitely time to get back to doing what I originally wanted.”
Penzo found the Boston-based franchisor’s business model a good fit for his goals. “MaidPro takes a methodical approach to customer service and house cleaning. It’s a personal service with a professional attitude.” Penzo noted that national background checks and a thorough training process for employees, and a sophisticated database that tracks client needs help deliver consistently excellent house cleanings.
