American City Business Journals:

2 local restaurant groups have added new concepts to attract diners to their growing roster of eateries.

The concepts, launched by Landry’s Restaurants Inc. and The Bella Restaurant Group, differ greatly from their previous operations.

Landry’s opened Red Sushi at the Kemah Boardwalk on March 17. It is the second location for the brand, which already has one at the Golden Nugget casino in Las Vegas.

Red Sushi at Kemah Boardwalk features traditional Japanese cuisine as well as hand-crafted sushi and sashimi, specialty rolls, fresh fish, steaks, tempura and traditional and flavor-infused sake selections. The specialty rolls range in price from $9.95 to $11.95.

Kathy Ruiz, vice president of culinary services for Landry’s, says the 40-acre Kemah Boardwalk entertainment complex, developed by Landry’s in 1997, houses a variety of seafood restaurants and steakhouses and a sushi concept was the only missing element.

She says the waterfront setting, along with the restaurant’s innovative sushi chefs, will set it apart from other such restaurants in the area.
