QSR Magazine.com:

Grant Avenue Development, an Arby’s franchisee with 35 locations in New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, has raised more than $90,000 to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA) local chapter. This year alone, it has raised more than $26,000 for the voluntary health agency working to defeat neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education.

According to MDA, more than one million Americans are affected by neuromuscular diseases. About 250,000 have some form of muscular dystrophy.

Locally, money raised helps the MDA chapter fund research and provides many direct services for people with neuromuscular diseases, including: assistance in purchasing and repairing wheelchairs and leg braces; assistance in purchasing communication devices; sending kids to MDA summer camps each year at no charge to families; facilitating support group meetings; and conducting an ongoing public education campaign.
