HeraldTribune.com:

Clockwork Homes Services Inc., the owner and franchiser of home repair in the air-conditioning, electrical and plumbing sectors around the nation, said Tuesday that it had added to its stable of companies with acquisitions in Minnesota and Indiana.

The Sarasota-based company bought Heating and Plumbing Consultants Inc., based in Webster, Minn., and Woods Electric Inc. in Indianapolis.

Heating and Plumbing Consultants Inc. will operate under the brand name of O’Connor One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating as a fully-owned Clockwork retail unit. O’Connor, based in Hastings, Minn., became a One Hour franchise in 2005.

Woods Electric Inc. will now operate under the brand name Mister Sparky America’s On-Time Electrician-Indianapolis as a Clockwork retail unit in the Indianapolis region.

Clockwork is assuming ownership, rights and use of both companies’ assets, intellectual property, trucks, equipment and offices.

Previous owners and their employees are remaining with Clockwork.

“Clockwork is focused on growing its franchise brands in key markets across the U.S. and in Canada,” said Jim Abrams, Clockwork’s chief executive, in a statement on Monday. “Acquisitions are a fundamental part of our strategy to expand our geographic footprint in North America.”
