As people bustle up and down the sidewalks around Sutton Place in downtown Wichita, Colby Stull says he hopes his new business will give them a chance to unwind.
“We try to make this a place to kick back and relax,” he said.
That place is the Daily Grind Coffee House and Cafe, which Stull opened in April. Stull has brought with him the franchise’s large food and drink menu in hopes of brewing up more than just coffee dollars.
For Stull, that has meant a fresh start in a new city.
Originally from Pratt, Stull spent the previous five years managing a small theater in his hometown. During that time, he also earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies from Fort Hays State University in 2006.
At age 29, Stull said he was ready to strike out on his own.
“I knew franchise was the way to go,” he said.
Stull eventually came across the Daily Grind, which began in 1995 in Virginia and now has more than 80 locations nationwide.
