
The public soon will get a taste of some “Old-Fashioned Hamburgers.”
Wendy’s International Inc. is planning to build a new 3,500-square-foot restaurant in Wood River Centre. The restaurant chain recently submitted building plans to the city for review.
The eatery will be the second business to locate on the redeveloped grounds of the former Wal-Mart. Office Max opened its new store last month. The site will be located at 1845 Vaughn Road, adjacent to Blockbuster Video.
Mayor Fred Ufert said he was pleased that the restaurant would be locating in the city, especially after the eatery closed in Alton.
