Bennigan’s Opens in Panama City and Veracruz, Mexico

Bennigan’s continues to expand internationally with new restaurant openings in Panama City, Panamaand Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz in Mexico.

The Panama City restaurant is situated on the top floor of a high rise building and features an upscale bowling alley, 40 flat-screen televisions, lounge seating throughout the restaurant, two bar areas, and a panoramic view of the city. This is franchisee Extreme Planet Special Food and Drink’s third Bennigan’s in Panama.

The Veracruz restaurant is owned and operated by franchise group Consorcio Restaurantero Athene. This is Consorcio’s sixth Bennigan’s inMexico. Located in the busy port city of Coatzacoalcos, the restaurant includes an indoor patio with a children’s playground, video gaming stations, and an open-area bar. In addition to the usual Bennigan’s fare, the menu features The Cowboy, a 14 oz bone in ribeye with grilled green onions and whole jalapenos, a traditional item in Mexico.

“The Bennigan’s brand is well known in Panama City and Mexico,” said Shawn Finn, Bennigan’s director of international franchise operations. “Both of these franchise groups excel at opening strong restaurants that embrace Bennigan’s heritage yet still incorporate their country’s individualized tastes.”

The new openings mark Bennigan’s 53rd and 54th international locations. Franchisee Consorcio recently began construction for two new locations in Cancun and Acapulco, both scheduled to open in late July.
