Rest easy, those of you salivating over the opening of Chipotle Mexican Grill.
The big day comes Wednesday when Chipotle serves free burritos and tacos from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. as a get-acquainted gesture to customers.
Its grand opening comes Friday at 1115 N. Valley Mills Drive, next to McDonald’s.
The growing chain calls its menu items “gourmet” and talks up its use of fresh and natural ingredients.
Fans rave about the finished product. Chipotle is known for the long lines that gather at lunchtime.
Waco’s Chipotle comes courtesy of Endeavor Real Estate Group in Austin, which has the Central Texas development rights.
It occupies nearly 2,500 square feet in a building with another 2,970 square feet available for lease.
Realtor Bland Cromwell is marketing the property. He said he hopes the crowds at Chipotle persuade someone to take it.
