Prepare a strong business plan
Investigate a potential franchise thoroughly and prepare a sound business plan. Have a realistic expectation about sales and profits.

Question your would-be franchisor and ask to speak to franchisees to compare your plan to their experiences, particularly regarding costs.

Make friends with your bank
It’s important to build good relationships with all the professional advisers you might work with - especially the bank.
