Ralph J. DiLeone, managing partner at The DiLeone Law Group, P.C., a Raleigh-based law firm concentrating in business, corporate and estate planning matters for U.S. and international clients, has announced that Mary Carolyn (MC) Hackney has joined the firm as an intern associate. In addition to her other duties as intern associate, Hackney will have the opportunity to shadow DiLeone and the other associates in their work at the firm.
Hackney is a third year law student at North Carolina Central University School of Law. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in English and Radio, Television and Motion Pictures. Prior to attending law school, Hackney worked in radio and then in advertising. At law school, Hackney is in the top ten percent of her class. She actively participates in activities including Law Review, Public Interest Law Organization, Trial Advocacy Board and Women’s Law Caucus. She also spent a summer in the Supreme Court clerk’s office on a project preparing the judicial system of North Carolina for continuity of operations during a pandemic influenza outbreak. Hackney is expected to receive her juris doctor in 2009.
“We are delighted to have MC join our firm for the summer,” said DiLeone. “She is an eager and enthusiastic learner, and her experience and education will be helpful both to our firm, our clients and to her own career in law.”
