Sandwich lovers get ready, a new sub joint is on the way to mid-Michigan. Six, actually.
Lenny’s Sub Shops is moving into Bay, Midland and Saginaw counties with six locations, two in each county.
Founded in Memphis, Tenn., in 1998 by Len Moore, the shop specializes in Philly Cheesesteaks and a patriotic, Philadelphia-style atmosphere.
The Saginaw-based Trilen Group is bringing the franchise to mid-Michigan. Comprised of four businessmen who do not yet have an address for their group, the Lenny’s endeavor marks Trilen’s first foray into franchising, said Brian M. Evans, 34, vice president in charge of marketing and finance for Trilen Group.
Of the six shops planned to open within five years, Evans said Saginaw County will receive the first; he hopes by Sept. 1.
