Lorenzo-owned Pancake House Inc. plans to open as many as 20 stores in Malaysia over the next four years.
Pancake House president Martin Lorenzo told reporters following the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting that the company would spend P30 million to put up three more Pancake stores in Malaysia this year to add to its existing two.
This will bring to five the company’s restaurants in Malaysia, its first overseas market.
Lorenzo said it could venture into franchising once the company put up five restaurants, .
He said several parties had already expressed interest in franchising the brand in Malaysia, which has a high per capita income and a young population that prefers Western names.
After Malaysia, Lorenzo said the company would bring Pancake House to Thailand and Singapore and its Japanese restaurant Teriyaki Boy to Vietnam. More.
