Shanghai Shangdao Food Chain Management is taking Shanghai Cailin Food Management and Shanghai Lifeng Food Company to court for illegally trading under the U.B.C Coffee trademark.
Reports have it that the accused signed a franchise agreement with Shanghai Shangdao Food Chain Management to trade under the U.B.C Coffee brand for a period of 3 years, but the companies have not renewed their agreement, yet continue to trade under the U.B.C Coffee logo. This has sparked a multitude of legal disputes between the companies and Shanghai’s No.1 Intermediate People’s Court has finally agreed to hear the case.
Shanghai Shangdao Food Chain Management is asking that the companies stop using the trademark and fork out RMB300,000 as compensation for its economic losses.
