Burger King Corp. said Thursday it bought 72 restaurants spread throughout Iowa and Nebraska from franchisee Simmonds Restaurant Management for an undisclosed amount.
“As a result of this deal, we have expanded our company restaurant presence to attractive Midwest markets, enabling us to leverage our existing infrastructure and established brand presence,” said Chuck Fallon, president of North America Burger King Corp., in a statement.
Burger King operates more than 11,400 restaurants worldwide, about 90 percent of which are owned by franchisees.
