Winston-Salem Journal:

A real-estate group is planning a new shopping center on South Stratford Road that will have Dunkin’ Donuts as an anchor tenant.

The 8,400-square-foot center will have room for about five other stores in addition to the Dunkin’ Donuts, said Will Blackwell, a co-owner of Atlantic Coast Commercial. He said he would like for one of the spots to be a family-style restaurant.

The center will be on a 1.3-acre tract near Hillcrest Towne Center, close to Cities Grill & Bar.

Blackwell said he likes the site because it is in an area near Jonestown Road that is undergoing both commercial and residential growth.

“Winston-Salem and Clemmons are growing together,” he said.

The tract is zoned for highway business and will not have to be rezoned.

Blackwell said he hopes to break ground on the project in December and have it completed by next summer.

The Dunkin’ Donuts will be about 2,000 square feet and will have drive-through service, said Sundeep Makhani, the franchiser.
