Cleveland, OH – BP, one of the world’s leading energy companies, is hosting “Discovery Day Cleveland ” to inform entrepreneurs of new franchising opportunities in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. At the half-day event participants can see firsthand the new retail format – ampm – that is making its debut in Ohio. At Discovery Day, to be held Tuesday, August 26, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center (127 Public Square), attendees will learn about the BP ampm franchise in detail and have a chance to sample ampm proprietary food items. Lunch will be provided.

“This is an exciting opportunity. As BP introduces its popular ampm brand to the Midwest, entrepreneurs have a new opportunity to operate one of the world’s top franchise brands,” said Bill Fry, VP of Operations for BP.
Prospective franchisees who attend the Discovery Day event will learn about opportunities to lease the combined convenience store and gasoline facility, enjoying a direct franchise relationship with BP without having to purchase the land and infrastructure.
According to Fry, prospective ampm franchisees in Northeast Ohio can now participate with an initial capital outlay of $250,000. In the U.S., about 95 percent of BP’s 13,000 retail sites are operated by independent businesspeople.
“This new offer provides the opportunity for many more people in Cleveland, Northeast Ohio and beyond to achieve their dream of owning their own business,” Fry said. “Diversity and inclusion are very important in BP’s franchising efforts. We consistently look to reflect the communities where we operate by appealing to a wide range of entrepreneurs.”
The ampm brand, founded in 1978, has a 30-year track record. BP’s Western U.S. ampm convenience store franchise has been ranked 35th in Entrepreneur magazines 29th annual “Franchise 500.” It was ranked 76th in the magazine’s list of “America’s Top 100 Growth Franchises” and 39th in the 2007 Franchise Times “Top 200.”
Known for delivering Too Much Good Stuff, including hot grab-and-go hot dogs, hamburgers, corn dogs and breakfast sandwiches with a wide-ranging condiment bar, BP ampm’s brand of edgy convenience has proven to be popular with consumers and franchisees nationwide. Offering more than 2,000 products, including BP fuels, BP ampm stores attract more than 300,000 customers every day.
