In a letter to Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti, the International Franchise Association opposed the one-year ban on fast-food restaurants saying it would unfairly restrict franchised businesses from offering their goods and services. The “Fast Food Interim Control Ordinance” was passed unanimously, 12 to 0, despite receiving strong opposition from franchise systems across the region. Concerned parties should contact L.A. Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa to request his veto of the measure.
