Knoxville News Sentinel:

Famous for its wood-burning oven and 24 beers on tap, Charlotte-based Brixx Wood Fired Pizza is coming to Knoxville next year.

Hemanshu Patel, the owner of the Salsarita’s restaurants in Knoxville, is the franchisee. Patel plans to open three Brixx restaurants, though a specific location has not yet been determined.

“We are working diligently on site selection. The earliest we would be open is by early spring,” Patel said.
Patel said the concept is a high-end pizza and beer restaurant (along with other things) though he added, “the explanation does it no justice. It’s pretty neat.”

The first location is targeted for West Knoxville, and Turkey Creek is “on the radar,” he said.
The company opened its first franchise in Columbia, S.C., last month and expects to have at least 16 locations by the end of 2009.
