As the percentage of Alberta’s senior population continues to grow, likely to double from the current 11% over the next 20 years, the needs of this group are becoming increasingly important. With the demographics demanding it, Vancouver-based Nurse Next Door one of Canada’s fastest growing home care franchise systems, has kicked off its Alberta expansion with the launch of a locally owned and operated franchise in Calgary.
With more than 10 locations already in operation in BC and Ontario, Nurse Next Door is rapidly expanding across the country. The Calgary franchise will serve as the starting point for a massive Alberta expansion plan that will see numerous locations added in the coming months. Franchises are also launching in other major cities across Canada later this year.
“The Alberta demographics are really screaming for our concept and we are excited to have found the right partners to launch with in Calgary,” says Nurse Next Door co-founder Ken Sim. “With the current healthcare system stretched already, and the senior demographic only growing, we know in-home senior care is the solution to our healthcare challenge.”
The newest Nurse Next Door franchise, locally owned and operated by Craig Burak and Travis Tinning, will address the care needs of Calgary seniors by providing a viable alternative to long-term care facilities.
