Jack In The Box May Still Open Here

Plans to open several Jack in the Box restaurants in Wichita Falls are still in the works, a source close to the negotiations confirmed.

The original plans were revealed in January, indicating a franchisee headquartered in Dallas was negotiating to open restaurants here.

A story in the Times Record News in late January said the first restaurant possibly would be built at Interstate 44 and Airport Drive, but those plans were scrapped, the source said.

“They have walked away from the I-44 and Airport Drive site,” he said. “It was just too messy. It got complicated. Maybe, down the road, they will come back.”

The source, who asked not to be identified, said negotiations are under way for “another location in a different part of town … and they are working on another one.”

He said the contract to purchase the land for the first location is expected in about 30 days.
