100-Store Southeastern Waffle House Franchisee Files For Chapter 11

A Waffle House franchisee with more than 100 Waffle House restaurants in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and Mississippi has filed for bankruptcy and is investigating accounting irregularities after the resignation the company’s head of accounting.

SouthEast Waffles LLC has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Its largest unsecured creditor is Treetop Enterprises Inc., which holds a $4.57 million claim.

Company CEO Jim Shaub says there are ongoing investigations into the departure of the company’s head of accounting and that the company has accounting irregularities.

SouthEast Waffles has 2,100 employees, according to court documents.
