Kid after kid bounced their way into Bouncy Bratz for its grand opening Saturday.
Children squealed with laughter as they bobbed around in the inflatable castle and obstacle course and shot down the huge inflatable slide, only to jump off and climb up it again.
A clown was also at the Southside business, helping with face painting and balloon animals.
Bouncy Bratz has been open for one week but was officially welcomed to town Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Co-owner Mark Caylor said business has been going very well. “People say, ‘Thank you for coming to Aiken,’” he said Saturday.
Bouncy Bratz is open seven days a week for daily walk-in play, birthday parties and rentals for children up to 12 years old.
“Birthday parties are going to be our lifeblood,” Caylor said, noting that there were five parties scheduled for that day.
There are no time limits on play, and all children must be accompanied by an adult, have a waiver signed and wear socks while inside, without exception.
One father said in passing that his daughter had been asking to go to Bouncy Bratz all morning.
For a fee, parents may jump with their children if they like or they can take advantage of the free Wi-Fi connection, enjoy an in-chair massage or watch one of the flat-screen TVs.
Children are fitted with color coded wristbands as a security measure, and there are seven cameras aimed on the floor to constantly monitor all action.
“Customer service is really what it’s all about,” Caylor said.
He and his wife started to develop the Bouncy Bratz idea about eight months ago, and he said he is already thinking about franchising.
