Express & Echo:

A theatre school backed by one of BBC2’s ‘Dragons’ has arrived in Devon in the shape of Razzamataz, which opens at Isca College of Media Arts on September 13.

Principal Anna Ruddick is one of the latest franchisees to join the business that started in Cumbria eight years ago.

Founder Denise Hutton started franchising the business in 2005.

But the real breakthrough came in February, 2007, when Denise entered the Dragon’s Den, and together with her new partner, Duncan Bannatyne, the business became serious.

In Exeter, Anna has places for just 70 children aged from four to 18 years and together with her team of experienced performers and teachers, the students will learn the broadest range of skills needed to succeed.

Those include singing, dance, drama and mime. And, in addition, they say the children will develop confidence, meet new friends, and get fit and healthy while having lots of fun.
