Demand Still Strong For 1901 Franchise

Many local small and medium enterprises are struggling to grapple with high oil and raw material prices in the current uncertain world economic situation.

However, fast food retailer and franchiser Nineteen O One Sdn Bhd is optimistic of its business prospects as there were many people who still wanted to be the company’s franchisees.

Executive director Ahmad Zakir Ja’afar said lots of applications locally and abroad were rolling in.

“People are still showing interest in the franchising business and want to open more outlets.

“With the increase in the number of our franchise outlets, we are now purchasing raw materials (food ingredients) in bulk and this has helped to reduce costs,” he said.

Zakir, founded the company with his wife, former television broadcast journalist Tengku Rozidar Tengku Zainol Abidin, 11 years ago. The couple started their first 1901 hotdog pushcart in Sunway Pyramid.
