Stanley Ma, the country’s king of the food courts, has added a spicy new quick-service restaurant to his growing empire. 
The president and chief executive of Montreal-based MTY Food Group Inc. announced yesterday his wholly owned subsidiary MTY Tiki Ming Enterprises Inc. has entered into an agreement to purchase all the business assets and Canadian franchising rights of Taco Time Canada Inc. of Calgary, bringing to 22 the number of fast-food banners he owns. There are presently 117 Mexican-style Taco Time outlets in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C. with system-wide sales of more than $54 million over the past year ended June 30.
