Evansville Courier & Press:

Einstein Bros. Bagels, a bakery-restaurant chain which is part of a company that includes more than 600 restaurant locations nationwide, wants to move into Southern Indiana.

Lisa Flando, a publicist for the company, said, “The brand has its eyes set on Evansville for growth.”
She said, “The company is looking to add three locations in Evansville by 2010.”

No exact Evansville locations have been decided yet, however, she said.

The company is known for its lox and bagels, egg sandwiches, egg paninis and wraps, open-face deli melts, salads, yogurt, soups and specialty coffees.

Its mission is to provide high-quality foods for breakfast and lunch in a neighborhood cafe-like atmosphere.

Einstein Bros. Bagels is a division of publically traded Einstein Noah Restaurant Group (BAGL on Nasdaq).
Based in Walnut Creek, Calif., the 19-year-old group is considered a leading company in the quick-casual restaurant industry.

It also operates and licenses locations under Noah’s New York Bagels brands and franchises locations under the Manhattan Bagel brand.
