Five Guys Franchisee Plans Lakewood Site

A franchisee of a fast-growing hamburger chain plans to spend $2.9 million to redevelop a building in Lakewood with the help of a $600,000 county loan.

Cuyahoga County commissioners have approved the loan to Wholesome Development Lakewood LLC, a franchisee of Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Nathan Kelly, Lakewood’s planning and development director, said the building’s new owner plans a makeover of the seven-storefront structure at 15000 Detroit Ave. for a burger restaurant and other tenants.
