Builder Goes Bust

The worries of prospective home owners eased slightly yesterday as representatives of David Reid Homes insisted contracts would be honoured despite a breakdown with its Fraser Coast franchisee.

“We’ve had meetings with the people we’re building with. Their homes will be finished,” David Reid Homes marketing assistant in Hervey Bay Damian Hillyard said.

It is not known how many Fraser Coast residents had contracts signed with Donamic Enterprises, the builder operating the David Reid franchise here, or whether they will be refunded any money paid to the company.
