More than 100 companies will be represented at a franchise fair in Manchester this weekend.
The British Franchise Exhibition takes place at Manchester Central tomorrow and on Saturday.
Interest in franchising is growing as redundancies mount during the downturn.
Firms exhibiting include McDonald’s, Cash Generator, Fastway Couriers, Travel Counsellors and Blazes Fireplace and Heating Centres.
