Hotel franchisor Choice Hotels International Inc. is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter financial results after the market closes on Tuesday, amid worsening declines in both business and leisure travel spending.
However, analysts expect the Silver Spring, Md.-based company to continue outperforming most of its peers in the hotel industry. Choice’s revenue stream is considered more reliable because – as a hotel franchisor – it takes in a relatively stable stream of franchise fees and requires less capital spending than hotel owners.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters forecast that the company will report a fourth-quarter profit of 37 cents per share on revenue of $158.5 million. More.
